I'm a tutor whose focus is to help students understand an overall concept before breaking that concept down into smaller pieces. I believe that the student should understand how their work contributes to the larger meaning of the subject matter. I have over 5 years of experience helping students in several subject areas. I worked at the Writing Center at Sonoma State University, where I helped students improve their remedial English skills. I also worked with ELL students. I helped college students improve writing skills in a variety of college courses. At the University of Colorado, I worked as a teaching assistant, where I helped students improve their skills in multiple History, Sociology, Writing, English, Ethnic Studies, and Theater courses.I believe good writing is the foundation of success in all coursework, so writing is an area I'm passionate about tutoring. I also tutor in History, English, ELL, Literature, SAT Writing, and SAT Verbal skills.My credentials include a Bachelor of Arts in History and a Bachelor of Arts in English degree earned at Sonoma State University. I also earned a Master of Arts degree in Early Modern European History at the University of Colorado at Boulder. I'm continuing my academic career at the University of Portland, where I'm working toward my MAT.
