The only tutoring I have done in the past is with fellow students to help them keep up and/or get/maintain an a/b average where I was able to help. I have helped my mother out by tutoring two of her step-children with math and reading. I took the ASVAB in high school(score of 97 in 2004) and the ACT while in the Navy(28-31 scores in 2005) I completed through pre-calculus and physics in high school. In the Navy I learned the math necessary for troubleshooting problems in a circuit board as well as nuclear formulas revolving around a nuclear reactor. As for why I want to be a tutor, I enjoy helping others to think and solve problems on their own. I started out in algebra in seventh grade, I had problems with the other students not being able to keep up with the teacher, and even screamed at them a few times when trying to help them, I was rather immature at the time, and didn't understand others needs well. The teacher needed to have a sit down with me to explain this, that no one learns exactly the same way or at the same pace as someone else. I tried harder to help others, to be patient and see what was giving them trouble. It didn't take long for the class to come to me for help if the teacher was already busy with someone else, I was able to help them understand without getting flustered myself, and it was a great feeling. I continued this throughout my schooling.

Hobbies
I enjoy reading a wide variety of fiction along with video games and various tv shows, from documentary types, to obvious fiction. When someone asks something, or I hear something unfamiliar, I want to know, I search pertinent web spaces to find out what was being talked about. I play various versions of dungeons and dragons, always enjoying the imaginative factor in creating a world to play in. The reason there is a lack of information in my education is not because I am unintelligent, but because I got out of the navy due to anxiety/stress related problems, I tried working, and college, but anxiety caused me problems I wasn't able to overcome at the time. Gym and a talented VA therapist have helped me to cope quite a bit and I've been able to get back out there without suffering from nearly as much anxiety as I used to, and as such, I'll keep pushing forward.
