Experience
I graduated from the University of Oregon in 2012 with a bachelor's degree in finance, as well as a minor in economics. During my time as a college student, I also worked as a business tutor where I helped a number of business students improve their public speaking and writing skills. Currently, I am enrolled in a master's program at Concordia University, where I am working towards a teaching degree and teacher's certification. I've always loved teaching others, which is why I started my own tutoring business while I was still a high school student. As a tutor, I helped people of all grade levels, including college students, improve their understanding of math. I believe that the best way to help someone overcome their academic hurdles is to create a professional relationship where you get to know the student's strengths and weaknesses. Once you've done that, you can then create material that's designed specifically for the student so that they're able to learn in a way that works best for them. Furthermore, I believe that everyone has the ability to excel in math, provided they have the help and confidence needed to push through the challenges. Along with education, my other hobbies include photography, softball, and scrapbooking.
