ExperienceI was a program assistant for the First Year Honors Program in London. This entailed mentoring and tutoring the first-year students while they completed a strenuous academic program entitled "The Meaning of the West" which focused on using primary sources to understand the development of Western civilization. I also home-schooled the professors' daughter in history, poetry, and Greek and Latin vocabulary. While in college, I was also a writing tutor and voice teacher. I have taken Music Theory, Aural Skills, Opera, Vocal Pedagogy and Vocal Literature. During my graduate years I worked for AmeriCorps teaching inner city kids in Buffalo urban environmental science using an inquiry-based, student-driven model developed by First-Hand Learning. I enjoy helping students discover their own unique approach to learning a subject and facilitating the development of their interest and passion for it.
HobbiesI enjoy singing, writing fairy tales, reading, soccer, drawing, painting and traveling (I have lived in three countries, and visited thirteen.
