Experience
I was a program assistant for the First Year Honors Program in London. This entailed mentoring and tutoring the first-year students while they completed a strenuous academic program entitled "The Meaning of the West" which focused on using primary sources to understand the development of Western civilization. I also home-schooled the professors' daughter in history, poetry, and Greek and Latin vocabulary. While in college, I was also a writing tutor and voice teacher. I have taken Music Theory, Aural Skills, Opera, Vocal Pedagogy and Vocal Literature. During my graduate years I worked for AmeriCorps teaching inner city kids in Buffalo urban environmental science using an inquiry-based, student-driven model developed by First-Hand Learning. I enjoy helping students discover their own unique approach to learning a subject and facilitating the development of their interest and passion for it.
